Multiline Textbox issue - line breaks in email submission

    Hello, we are using v2.7 of Dynamic Forms, and I have a couple of Multiline Textboxes setup.  Everything works great on the front-end, when filling out the form, but when you have it submitted via email, any line breaks that were entered are gone and everything is listed on one line.  I am using Outlook 2007.  This is a problem, because the information we are gathering includes Contact information of multiple people, so we would need that information all on different lines.

    What can we do to get around that?

    HI, multiline textbox fields do not save the line breaks / spaces,etc. What you can do is change the multiline textbox fields to Rich Text Editor fields which will save the line breaks,etc. -- David

    David, thanks for the reply. That could work - is there a way to limit the RTE options so users don't have the ability to insert images, and all the extras? We are really just looking for them to enter the text. Thanks a lot.

    HI, the RTE has a little down arrow that if you click on it, it will collapse the toolbar and if you re-click on it, the toolbar will expand. So perhaps set your DF page to have the toolbar be collapsed initially.-- david

    I don't think the RTE is going to work for us. Has anyone customized the module at all to allow for this to work with the multi-line text box? Or has anyone customized it so that the RTE only displays the text box area without the other options? Thanks

    HI, I will discuss this with Chad and get back with you. Although I have personally tried customizing the Rich Text Editor numerous times before to not display the toolbars,etc but it has never worked out the way I expect it to. -- David

    HI, no go. If you can figure out how to customize the RTE field, then please give us some pointers because I didn't have any luck in unhiding specific toolbars. And the multi-line text box will not keep the newline spacings unless you actually type in the actual HTML source along with the text. -- David
