    Hello,

Is it possible to have multiple links on a Page? We would like to provide a text box with a link where a user clicks on the link to do a lookup on a different page and returns back with looked up value which will be filled in text box.

    Thanks,

    Dev

HI, it may be possible to accomplish this but I still don't quite understand what you want to achieve. So for example:

Page 1: a bunch of fields, with a link to Page 2
Page 2: how does the lookup work here and what is it supposed to return? will this be a drop down combobox where user chooses an item, clicks submit and gets redirected back to Page 1 where Page 1 will automatically populate the correct values for all the fields based on the picked combobox value from Page 2? -- David

    Hello Mr.David,

    Thanks for the response.

What we want is something like a Currency code finder in Page 1. There would be a text box and a link to a page 2 which would have currency and description in a grid. Once user selects the currency say USD  in page 2 and clicks on return-the same would be populated back on Page1's Currency code  text box. Combo box in Page 1 is not the requirement. Only question here is how to provide a link to a different page using Dynamic forms in addition to Submit(Form completion redirection event). Html hyperlink seems to be one option, is there any other option?

    Thanks in Advance,

    Dev

Okay, in that case, on page 1 name your textbox shortname field the same as that on page 2 except on page 1, have it retrieve from querystring variable and page 2, pass querystring variable.

Also, on page 1 textbox field, you can hard-code "a href = " url link in the example text for the user to click on and proceed to Page 2 where you select your currency and then submit, will redirect back to page 1. This will do the trick for you. -- David

    Hi David,

Text/HTML control with hyperlink doesn't seem to post data. In above scenario, how to pass values from Page 1 to Page2 by  Session?

    Thanks,

    Dev

HI, to pass values by session variables, simply go to Advance Field Options of each field and change it from pass querystring to pass as session variables. On the target page, make sure to retrieve values from session variables. That's all that's to it. -- David

    Hi David,

Thanks for the response. But values are not getting passed when I click on hyperlink.

I have created a sample on Beta Springs as Dynamic Forms=>Text-HTMLPassValues (tabid=937)

I have created a hidden variable "SentValue" and a HTML text(SendValues) with hyperlink (pointing to Beta Springs home).

SentValue"  -the hidden variable is configured to be passed as Query string and in session. Also there is a form completion event.

When I click on SendValues hyperlink, resultant  url is
    http://www.betasprings.com/Beta-Spr...fault.aspx

But when I click on default Submit link named Save
    url is
    http://www.betasprings.com/Beta-Spr...fault.aspx?SentValue=100

which has the hidden variable SentValue sent as Query string.

Kindly let me know your views on this. Also do let me know if there alternatives for this. Objective is to have multiple hyperlinks in Addition to Save and each of them to send values to recipient page.

    Thanks,

    Dev

Hi, I don't believe a text/html field that you hard-code in a URL will be able to recognize the DF tokens so that's why the "SendValue" querystring will not work in this case. How about creating a radio button with options for user to choose and then in your form completion event, create events to redirect the user to different locations depending on the options they choose? -- David

    Dear David,

Kindly refer to earlier discussion where currency code selected in lookup page should populate it back in Page1's Currency code  text box. Issue here is If there is Initial sql in Page 1, will it not overwrite value returned by Page 2? Kindly let me know how to handle this scenario.

    Thanks,
    Dev
