I have an order form where I an using document.getElementById('EventTotal').innerHTML instead of simply html.inner. When I am in the "Edit" mode in DNN 05.02.00 the form works perfectly using AJAX. However, when I switch to "view" mode or log out and test the form as a non-administrator, the values disappear when an ajax event occurs. I have tested in both firefox and internet explorer.
Any ideas? |

Very strange. However, since you are using firefox, best way to check what is going on with client side javascript is to download and use firebug and it will trace through and give you a better idea of what's going on. -- Dvid |

I'd really like to figure this out so I can use AJAX. I disabled ajax and the form works properly in both view and edit mode.
Anyone know what is different between "view" mode (and live mode) and "Edit" mode which would allow the form to work properly using AJAX in Edit mode but not live? Is this a bug with in DNN? |

Hi David,
This is the first that we're hearing this and finding it really strange. Could you please go to our test site, www.betasprings.com and see if you can duplicate this there? Log in with host / dnnhost and just set up your page under Dynamic Forms. Then give us your page URL and your results so we can review further. Thanks!

I'm having a similar problem. With AJAX enabled it run the scripts to update the innerhtml for a total (html/text), but the innerhtml is wiped after the ajax is done.. works fine without ajax.. although it's clunky being that it has a postback. |

HI, do you also have the same client side javascript that calculates your totals in the module configuration / Initial javascript? -- David |

Yes David, I have client side scripts to calculate total amounts.. and an initial java script too.. it works perfectly with AJAX disabled.. but does not when it's enabled.. I can show you on the page if you're able to look at it.. I'd set it up in betasprings, but that would take a lot of time to duplicate the form and events/etc. |

HI, I believe you we are conversing over email on this issue. Can you reply on the email to give me host rights and URL/tabid of the DF page or else, export your form to betasprings.com (username: host, password: dnnhost) and state the URL/tabid of the page you created on betasprings here so I can look at the issue? Thanks. -- David |

David, do you recall the solution to this issue? I have a similar situation. My initial javascript is not running and I can't figure out why not. I have another thread going about it, but I found this one while searching hard. Here is the other thread. I'd appreciate knowing t-bones' solution. http://www.datasprings.com/Products...fault.aspx |

@ Whetstone.. they ended up sending me a patch to fix the problem i was having.. 3.00.50, it was a bug/issue in the program. It may not be the case for you though.. your other post you mention that you're running a newer version of Dyn. Forms (3.4) than we had at the time. If you can get the form up to beta-springs, they're really good about getting you a solution quickly. David, Candace, and Chad are pretty relentless when it comes to helping troubleshoot issues... which seems to be rare these days! |
