How to update hidden field?

    I have to input fields

    Input text A: TextA

    Input text B: TextB  (Hidden)

    when I type something in TextA or change something in TextA, that change will also change in TextB hidden field.

    Is it possible to do?

    In the Input text A client side event add code similar to this:

    $(textB) = $(textA)

    Substitute "textB" with the actual short field name you gave to the "text input b" field... and same with "textA"... it'll error out if you don't put in the correct short field names.

    I did exactly what you have there, but still not working. So I don't know if I am doing something wrong

    This is what I put in Client side event in my not hidden field

    $(StartDateHidden) = $(StartDate)

    My hidden field by default has a value 2/18/2010. So when I change a date in my StartDate input field. The default date in my hidden field does not change.

    What is wrong there?

    Sorry.. you're right.. it's not as straight forward as I thought. Date fields don't seem to act like regular text boxes.. I scoured the forum to see how you'd pull the date value for a date field and I can't seem to find it.. for client side events.


    Wonder if you could set up a question event to set it equal to the startdate? It'd be clunky with the postback..

    HI, is StartDateHidden a read-only field? Also, perhaps remove the DEFAULT value and instead use the following:

    if ($(StartDate) == '')
    {
    $(StartDateHidden) = '2/18/2010'
    }
    else
    {
    $(StartDateHidden) = $(StartDate)
    }

    Place this in two areas:
    1) under Module Configuration / Initial Javascript (for page load)
    2) under the client side event of StartDate
