    First time poster here - please be gentle (Yes, I have searched and read 'til my eyes bled) 

    OK, I have a table with company info.

    I open the page with the dynamic form with companyId as parameter, and it appears in a text/hidden field with short name companyId. So far so good.

    Now, for the rest of the fields in the form, I want to populate the default values with data from the company table, using this companyId as key.

    So for the Company Name field (below the companyId field), I tried using the SQL driven Default Value option with

    SELECT CompanyName AS DefaultValue FROM Companies WHERE CompanyId=$(companyId)

    Obviously(?), that didn't work.

    Any hints and/or pointer how to do this simple task? Where should I start reading?

    HI, you would want to use SQL binding for this. What you need to do is pass the CompanyID as a shortname of DSParam1 and use SQL binding to retrieve the value.
    To sum it up, it will be something like this:

    On your Dynamic Forms page, you would have a querystring at the end of the URL

    http://www.website.com/default.aspx...nyIDnumber

    Under Module Configuration / SQL Binding, type in:

    select * from Companies where CompanyID='$(DSParam1)'

    On your dynamic forms, make sure all the fields that you want populated have the same shortname as the column names from the Companies table. See if this will work for you and if you get stuck on something, feel free to reply back. -- David

    However, no matter how much I stare at the Module Configuration page, I can't find any sign of SQL Binding under any heading at the Mocule Configuration page. Also, I can find no mention of "SQL Binding" in the PDF manual.
    (The version I'm using is 25 Enterprise)

    HI, what version of Dynamic Forms are you running? It should be under Module Configuration / Initial SQL Rendering Bind. Can you see it now? -- David

    I guess it's 2.5 - The installed PA is DataSprings_DynamicForms_Module25_DNN45PLUS_EnterpriseEdition
    Under Module Configuration I have
    General settings
    Header/Footer...
    Validation
    Blacklist
    Dynamic Q Sort Order
    Style Sheet
    Custom Javascript
    Payment Gateway
    Submit Link/Button
    Content Localization

    For the particular problem I was trying to solve, I've switched to SQLGridSelectedView instead, but it'd be good to know this, as I plan on applying Dynamic Forms to solve other tasks in the near future.

    HI, it looks to me like you have an older version of Dynamic Forms which doesn't support SQL Rendering Bind. You may consider upgrading to the latest version. -- David
