2 fields - same form - both linked to DNN profile field?

    Scenario.  ComboBox1 has a list of Company Names, An option in the list is "other".  based on the selection of "other" a textbox appears to allow you to enter a company name. 

    Question.

    Combobox1 is linked to the Company field in the DNN Profile. I need the "Other" to NOT be stored from ComboBox1 and instead store the value from the "Other Text Box" instead.

    I've looked at question events and can't see a way to set the default value of one when the other is selected.

    HI, how about trying this:
    1) create a hidden field type called "Company"
    2) have this hidden field type be linked to the "Company" DNN CORE profile field
    3) DO NOT link the ComboBox field to any core profields whatsoever
    4) use client side javascript to set the hidden field value
    5) place the following client side javascript in your combobox and company text box field

    if ($(combobox1) != "other")
    { $(Company) = $(combobox1)}
    else
    { $(Company) = $(textboxfield)};

    I think this "Trick" deserves to be in the documentation.
    Handling Other is a very useful thing.
