I've got the opt in module set up on two seperate portals on my server and on one portal  it is working fine, but on the latest one I have set up it is really slow and the 'processing' ajax animation bar that comes up when you click a button in the control panel kills the site. It just hangs there and whilst you can se ethe page in the background update, the processing div with the animation thing never goes away.

As a result, you have to refresh the page to clear it which then resets the page to before you clicked the button (ie, when trying to move to page 2 of my subscriber list or change the subscribers to show 200 per page instead of 10).

Has anyone else had this problem and how can I get around it? I've already checked the 'Turn ajax off in control panel' checkbox on the module config page but it still shows...

    Hi Jodie,

Sorry for the late response here I usually handle these questions related to Opt In Email and have been out of town. If you are still having the problem you can open a support ticket for a faster response.

    As far as this questions...

    1. Does this happen when using a standard skin/container?
    2. What version of DNN are you on? And what version of Opt In Email specifically... If you go to host/module definitions does it show 4.2.40 which is the latest version with all known patches and hot fixes?
    3. Are there any other 3rd party modules on the page or anything like that which might interfere?

Sometimes if I have seen this its because of another JavaScript error... the only way to find out is to load up something like FireBug for FireFox to see what is stopping and causing the error.

    Hi Chad
I do not know what the problem is but since you have implemented the ajax / jquery integration (v 3+) I find it very difficult to use dynamic forms. The ajax bar just hangs and there seem to be no solution for this. I had many installations with dynamic forms and every time I had to revert to a version before ajax / j query (2.64) to make things work. I think you have great module but there is something not right with version 3+ on dnn 5. I know that sometimes you have to find work arounds but if previous version work ok I see no reason why updated version should create problems.

    Hi Matt,

This thread is listed under Opt In Email.  Are you referring to issues with Dynamic Forms 3.0?  There are some known issues with Dynamic Forms and Ajax so the first thing I would recommend is to disable AJAX on your form.  Also, some issues have been addressed in the current version so I will also recommend upgrading to Dynamic Forms 3.4.

    Thanks!

I am having the same problems and it is with Opt- In email.

The previous poster likely meant opt in email and simply also uses Dynamic Forms.

My versions are Opt in email 4.3.6
    DNN 5.5

My issue is the Ajax over lay gets stuck. It seems to happen only on IE, not FF

I am having this issue on a clean install of DNN with no other additional 3rd part modules.

I am also having other issue that I am trying to sort through now, including:

    • - preview of email shows only the first one repeatedly, not the one clicked
    • - opt out link is showing ugly URL not work "unsubscribe"
    • - links are not working when link tracking checked
    • -tracking bug shows up as not found image and tracking is not working
    • when choosing to view subscribers by list, does not show anything, goes to blank list
    • Mail Merge tokens not being entered into telerik html editor
I have used a previous versoin of Opt in Email with great success, a lot of these look like new issues,

I agree with the previous persons post, please don't add fancy things like j-query if it is going to break the core functionality of the module.  You have a good product.

If you have any insight to the above issues please let me know
