This should work as you describe. I guess it might depend on your template though, do you have the [VERIFICATION CODE] item in your template?
What message is displayed to the user if you are using the standard DNN Account Login? Also, what version of DNN are you running on and what version of Dynamic Login?

I dont have the [Verification Code] item in the template because the Admin will manually handle the authorizaton status of the User. I dont need to add that because once we get the registration form inputs from the User, we review the information and if its good, then we manually authorize the user so [Verification Code] is not sent or needed. If its possible, I want to throw an error message telling them they are not authorize yet to gain access to the site...otherwise nothing is displayed when they attempt to enter their Username and Password they initiallty inputted via registration process
My login is 3.10.20, DNN 5.2.2
