I'm using Dynamic Registration 4.0.40 and DNN 5.3.1

I'm trying to save a value from a dropdownlist to a custom DNN core field. Doesn't work. If i change the field into a radiobutton list, everything works fine.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

HI, i've just tried this on my localhost system and it's working fine (although I'm not on DNN 5.3.1 but I don't think this should have an effect). Are you allowing user to add item for the combobox option or not? If you allow them to add an item and they click on it to add item, I don't believe that item will actually get saved. Can you tell me how the combobox item is configured? -- David

Well, I am so sorry, i've just tried it once again, and now it works! Believe me or not, i've tried it a couple of times and it did not work. I even had a look at the table UserProfile, but the data was not saved. Then i changed it into a radiobutton list and it worked.

Now i changed it back into dropdownlist to test it again, and everything gets saved now.

I don't know what happend or what i was doing wrong. Sorry once again.

The next time I try longer before i write here

HI Sabe, no worries. That's what the forum and "Contact Us" are for, to try and figure things out. -- David

FYI, now i got the same issue again. I changed a dropdown field to "hide for regsitered users", and now ALL my dropdown values aren't stored in the database anymore. If i change the dropdowns to radiobuttons everything works fine.

This is driving me crazy!! Please check this issue, i spent a lot of money for your module.

Hi Sabe - Thanks for your follow up and sorry for the problems. Typically if you can duplicate something sometimes but not all of the time its difficult for us to know exactly what is causing the issue. My first suggestion would be to isolate when it happens VS when it doesn't happen.

    1. Does it happen if you don't select the option to 'Hide for registered users'?
    2. Are you entering options or using SQL Options
    3. Is the field 'mapped' to the DNN Core profile field?

Also - it would be a big help if you can duplicate this at http://www.betasprings.com (login as host/dnnhost). If you can duplicate the issue there we can usually get a patch out much quicker. Its always difficult in these situations if we can't duplicate the issue.
