Paypal multiple responses and emails problem

    I get multiple Paypal return emails from the same user for the same form sometimes I can get up to 20 of them.  They all have the same Paypal ReturnID and are not processing more than once on Paypal. Any ideas as to what is going on here?

    Hi Steve,

    That is strange!  Let me ask you a few questions.

    1.  Did it work properly before and the problem with multiple emails just started?  If it just started, can you tell me any recent changes that were done to the site like maybe a DNN upgrade, a change in hosting, upgrade to the module?

    2.  In Admin, Event Viewer, please choose Debug Info and see if you can find the same email event firing more than once.

    3.  Is there only 1 email address that's experiencing this problem?  If you change the EMAIL TO address, does the problem continue?

    Hi Candace,
    1. The form works fine - this is an intermittent problem. There have no changes and no upgrades.
    2. In the event viewer I do see the same email event firing more than once.
    3. It happens with different email addresses but not all the time.

    I was wondering if it could be possible that the enduser is clicking the submitt more than once as it seems to take awhile for the form to respond once they click submit.

    Also, will having alot of results in the database (500+) slow the form down?

    Hi Steve,

    The number of results in the db doesn't normally cause the form to be slow.  However, you might export your existing results to Excel then purge it so you start from a clean slate and see if it makes it faster for you.

    There are other things that may impact performance.  Disabling quick edits usually helps.  Also, do you have a lot of question events?  About how long does it take from submit to the redirect to PayPal?  It might help if you add a text/html field to say something like ' Please hit the submit button only oncewait while you're being redirected to PayPal.'
