    Hi,

I have setup two dependent lists:

    List A: Car Manufacturers (Make)

    List B: Car Model

I defined these Lists under "Host >> Lists" with Parent-Child relationship.

Display of List A (Make) is straight forward.
For Displaying List B (Model), I am using a SQL with WHERE clause (where ParentID = $(make)).

This is working fine ONLY when create a Question Event that gets executed after a selection is made on List A (Make). Initially I defined this Question Event to "Display a Hidden Question" (List B, Model). Later, I didn't "hide" the List B. But, List B is getting "correct set of options, matching the selected Option in List A" only when the Question Event is executed (though the question event is not really 'unhiding' any question, the action of 'post-back' is doing the magic of correctly loading List B.

    My question is....

Is there a way to load List B with appropriate values (for a given selection in List A) without actually defining a Question event or doing some sort of Post-back?

    Thanks a lot in advance?

Hi, I don't believe this is possible for the moment although it would be a great enhancement for future release of DF. -- David

Yes... The idea of making this happen without a postback really would require all of these values to be loaded via JavaScript and some tricky client side events... There really isn't a way to do it within the module though, the entire idea of a postback is that it has to go run some additional code to handle pulling the query.
