    Hi Guys,

I am trying to undertake a 2 phase registration process but I am having trouble getting to the second phase using SQL validation

I have a table in the DNN DB pre-populated with our users personal details.  In order to register the user must answer 5 questions which are validated to the table in the DNN DB via a stored procedure.  All that is working fine but i am only able to kick off the SQL validation by hitting 'Register' at the bottom of the form.

Can I use a custom button or other method on the form that when clicked validates the entered information and if valid shows some more information as the second phase to the rego process?

    Regards,

    Pete

HI, SQL validation is actually server side validation, because it has to send data to the SQL server to check and return the results. Server side validation requires a post-back on form submit.

What you can do is also use form completion event and pass along querystring variables depending on the results. Another words, have another DF module below on another page so that on the first form, when you hit submit, if validated, will take the user to the 2nd page to represent the second phase. I hope this points you in the right direction. -- David
