    Hey Guys,

I set up a really basic quiz with ten questions, and gave each option (every question involves radio buttons) a numeric value (stored as a string in the database automatically). However, I could not figure out how to access the [total score] or [value] token in order to post the score to a different page upon form submission. I assume that I would be using Form Completion Events and the http post option (.aspx?SR=[totalScore] is the form I am looking at) but I can't seem to figure out a simple way to access what is a fairly important token. Any ideas? I don't need the actual percentage or anything like that... I just want the summed value of the radio options the user has selected prior to submission.

    Thanks In Advance,
    Bert

    Hi Bert,

That depends on how well you know javascript.  You will need to set up a Total or a Score field.  Then add javascript that to sum up values to each question for the $(Score).  You'll need to add this javascritp to each related question under Advanced Field Options, Client Side Event.

Please visit www.datasprings.com/formdemos and see Demo # 20 where we did something similar to the sub-totals and the Grand Total.

    You may also have to go 1 step further and create fields like Q1Score, Q2Score, etc.  This way, you can say, if Q1 = Answer1, then $(Q1Score) = x.  If Q1 = Answer2, the $(Q1Score) = y.

Then add all your Q1Score, Q2Score to get to TotalScore.  In this manner, you can render the actual answers selected if you want this in emails and/or reports.

If you need help setting this up, we can do this for you with Premium Support Hours.

    Thanks!
    Candace
