I'm creating a review page for my form - a little bit differently that normal.  Basically I'll write to the db on submit and then re-pull the data on the review page and provide an edit button back to the main form.  The plan is to put everthing into text fields, turn on the read only attribute and use the local stylesheet to fine tune the look.

So my question is..... In trying to manipulate the stylesheet, I've been able to alter every aspect of the label and disabled textbox that I need, but, the text color does not change for IE - everything else is okay but not IE - which is our major browser.  Have you run into this before and, if so, do you have any suggestions or work around?  Thanks in advance.

    Hello BSquared,

What internet browsers does these style work in?

What version of IE are you using? IE7 or  IE8

Some styles are supported and rendered differently in other browsers, it may be possible the styles you're using are deprecated or not supported by IE. Though this is most likely not the problem.

Can you copy/paste the styles you're applying to your label and disabled textbox?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Well, I feel dumb - I had started one question, figured out the answer and did another question - but forgot to change the subject line - sigh...

My pain right now is with IE - 8 to be specific. After a bit of searching, I found that IE is problematic in this way.  It is pretty much fixed the color at #808080. Other browsers are okay with changing text color - only IE is the problem child.

That said, you can change the text color when the field is set to readonly. Unfortuneately, DF is setting the field to disabled even though the check box says read only.  It would be nice for future versions if this was clarified with an additional so one checkbox disables the field and the other sets it truly to read only.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Hello BSquared,

I see what you're talking about, and yes this is a disadvantage. I can refer this to development to discuss and perhaps include this into a future release of Dynamic Forms. We will be releasing Dynamic Forms 3.4 this next month hopefully but unfortunately it has been closed off for any new enhancements so it wouldn't be possible to include this into the newest version.

Thank you for the great catch and idea. We will take this into consideration.
If you have any questions please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Thank you sir - can't wait to see what the new release has in store. I'm sure that it seems like a lot of nit-picking for this feature and that, but when you stop and consider what you all have done with this module, it really is pretty amazing all the things DF can do. Personally, I love the fact that it automatically creates the linkage between the labels and fields when you click - always hated to hand code that one.

    Take care,

    Bob

Thank you Bob for your kind compliments of Dynamic Forms. If you ever come up with enhancement requests, questions or comments just know they're always welcomed.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
