    Hi,

This is my first use of Dynamic Views with DF v3.3.60 (DNN 5.4.4).
I added the Dynamic Views module to a page and "linked it" to a DF module instance. When I click the "Generate Column Names" no columns are generated. I tried to create / add them manually one by one. I used the DF short names.

    Example: Dynamic Form
    First Name is the lable
    First_Name is the short name

Should I use the label (First Name) or short name (First_Name) while adding Columns?

I don't see any results. When I click the "Export to Excel" link, it gives this error:
Error A critical error has occurred.
An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO statements, verify each column has a name. For other statements, look for empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Add a name or single space as the alias name. Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'As'.

Obviously I need to enter Column names differently??

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

HI, you shouldn't have to add the columns manually if you've chosen a dynamic forms instance. How many fields do you have on that particular dynamic forms instance that you chose?

Also, what version of Dynamic Views are you running on? -- David

    Hi David,

Yes, I am correctly linking to the correct DF Module Instance.
    I am using DF v 3.33.6   and DNN 5.4.4

It has several fields: You can take a look at the form here:
    http://sathyasaicenters.org/p2/r05r...STEP1.aspx

Basically I am trying to create different Views ("live" reports) with different subset of fields for different organizing teams of the event.

While you help me with this, you may also consider helping me with "auto creation of a Unique id that is based on a simple serial number starting from 10000 (or some seed number) to represent each Form submission uniquely. DF does offer a Unique Id; but it is not for humans

I did see all the threads about generation of auto-incrementing unique id; but couldn't figure out how to implement in reality.  Like creation of a new table with an auto-increment field; initiating with a "seed number"; writing a SQL query to increment it (using Form Completion Event", etc.)

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

HI, do you have unique shortname fields for all of the fields? Each "shortname" field must be unique. Try to create a simple DF form with only several fields and see if the columns get generated automatically in Dynamic Views. This way, we know it is working and there must be some field conflict with your original Dynamic forms module.

As for generating a uniqueID that's auto-incrementing, this would be somewhat difficult unless you are writing the results to your own SQL table instead. Another words, you can create your own SQL table with the first column being an identity column with starting value of 10000 and incrementing by one. Then your SQL completion event would insert all the field shortnames to that SQL table. Then you can use Dynamic Views (SQL query) to display the results from that SQL table. Hope this points you in the right direction. --David
