    Hi

I am running dnn 5.4.1 and the latest version of Opt-In and I have 2 issues.

    1. I am running child portals with an instance of Opt in running in each child portal. When I put an image in the email it defaults the url to src="http://www.xyxco.com/childportal/portals/5/emailimages/test.jpg" when it should be src="http://www.xyzco.com/childportal/emailimages/test.jp. no matter what settings I use in the config, I cannot get the image to show up unless I hardcode the url. Of course, I can't have my clients do this. I am new to optin so I may be doing something wrong. I saw another thread on this and tried all different options but none seem to work.

    2. When I click on the opt-out link in the email, it brings me to the home page and not the optin page which I have specified in the settings.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Carl - I saw the support request come in today for this and responded with some items (also will paste below)... Once you are up and running we can add any updates to this forum thread as a reference.

    ------------------
    First a few things…
    1. I notice that the opt out URL is pointing to a page that is behind a login… This is likely the issue with why its then redirecting you to the home page for opting out. The opt out page is typically setup to be ‘Visible to all users’.

    2. I see the image that is rendered in the source here, its listed as http://www.yoursite.com/yourportal/portals/5/Email%20Images/test_thumb.jpg. What is the actual URL to that image? How you would typically access that image?

    3. What settings do you have (maybe send a screenshot) under the advanced newsletter in two specific areas. What settings do you have for ‘Alternate Portal Alias’, is this blank or do you have a value there? Also what settings do you have for the ‘Header Tag’ there.

    --------------------------

    Thanks,

    Chad

The opt out page is called subscribe and it is set to be visibile for all users. The home page where the advanced opt in is installed is set to visible to editors only. I changed that to have the page visible but the module not.

the image url should be :
http://www.myparent.com/mychild/email_images/test_thumb_jpg but by default it renders src='http://old.datasprings.com/portals/5/email_images/test_thumbs.jpg so when the url is added, it is the wrong address ie:http://www.myparent.com/mychild/portals/5/email_images/test_thumb.jpg.

I just got it to work by changing the config to: not replace the full url and then put this in the header .

So now I still need to figure out why the optout link takes the user to the home page and not the subscribe page.

Will get you an update as I explore more. I am looking forward to using this module and have some suggestions for you too

    Carl

    Hi Chad

See the screen shots - I think the combination of the base url and the not replacing the full url fixed the problem. I now see images!

With respect to the opt out redirecting to the home page, I checked and do have the optin module on a page that is visible to all. The home page is set to visible by admin adn that is where the advanced newsletter module is. Should this make a difference.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Carl,

I believe you already have an email conversation with Chad so please send him updates via email so can more easily monitor your progress.  The community support forums is not as closely monitored as trouble tickets.  Thanks!

Also, Carl, please send Chad the Opt Our URL that is being generated so he can review it. Thanks!

I had this same issue. I sent out two mailers and even though I changed the location, it kepts the old one when it sent out the mailer. And yes I clicked to save my change, yet it still took users to the list for my first mailer.

The first save was tabid 17

    the second was tabid 18

yet both went to tab id 17.

The only way I fixed this was to delete the modules from my page and set up up with both lists on the same page. This should be looked into. My post:

    Hi James,

Glad you were able to work around this issue... I am really not sure why it would have kept the old link but maybe if it was changed AFTER the newsletter was scheduled to go out?
