Hi Richard - let me see if I can answer some of your questions...
Dynamic Views doesn't support ISEARCHABLE within DNN however Tailored Text/HTML does support it. The reason I wouldn't really recommend using it and the reason why its not added into the module directly is because typically the 'view' or 'text' is simply rendered at run time and based on things such as tokens, querystring parameters, SQL, etc... Because of this any text/html isn't really going to be accurate and useful for search.
The solution? Let google crawl links or get a 3rd party search module (there are ac ouple out there) but basically they do a 'full site crawl' and follow links within links etc...
How can google Crawl your links? Well, there are some enhancements that we need to add to add the ability to generate full URL site Maps based on your queries and the types of situations which might come up. Our recommendation is to 'build' out reports or hyperlinks.
For example, maybe your Dynamic Views allows the user to search by City and maybe another field such as Category. You can create a 'report' or 'Dynamic Views' of these links by rendering a list of all categories or all cities.
So a module such as:
"Find your data by City" -- Module Title
Then the query would render hyperlinks for google to follow to the real page.
So the query would maybe be:
Select Distinct City from YourTable Order by City ASC
Then the template would point to the real page but pass the city to the search and also pass the parameter to auto load the results:
Maybe the hyperlink text would be "Find results for [City]" but the URL under it would be something like:
http://www.yoursite.com/PageWhereYo...earch=True Passing the parameters via the querystring will cause them to default, then passing AutoSearch=True will force the search results to go ahead and render the results.
So basically what you are doing is building an index of hyperlinks that google can then crawl and index. You would want to maybe do the same for Categories or whatever columns can render and limit results.
We will continue to work on other options for SEO that might help with these types of crawlers.
Thanks!
