If I have a question shortname field called $(FirstName),  I know that if I want on onkeypress client side event, I would have to rename it $(FirstNameonkeypress) correct?

What if I want to add another client side event to it, e.g. an onkeydown and onkeyup.   How would you add an additional client side event to that same question?

    Hello Chuck,

I believe you can achieve this by taking the original short name:

    FirstName

Now lets add the "onkeypress" client side event to the shortname:

    FirstNameonkeypress

Now this is the tricky part but I think this will work, so lets add another client side event to the short field name:

    FirstNameonkeypress_onkeydown

    ------------------------------

So I believe this will work, as long as these events are included in the name then Dynamic Forms should pick this up and add the client side events to it.

Please test this out and let me know how this works for you.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,
Thanks for providing that.   Very helpful.   But I did notice something in my inital test.  I created a test client side event and it was being used by both onkeypress and onkeydown.  How do I distinguish which event to be used?

    Thanks again.

Edit:  No need to followup.  It works fine regardless.

    Hello Chuck,

Did you mean which one would have precedence over the other if both were invoked?

If this is what you're asking then, I'm guessing the event that appears first in the name should do it's thing and then move on the the next.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Thanks Ryan.  Its working they way I want it.  I just had to rearrange the order of the functions appear on the client side.
