    Hi all,

    I'm trying to see if there is a way the File Upload question can limit the types of files that users upload.  For example, I may want to verify that they upload either a PDF or a DOC.  Is there a way to implement this?

    Another idea I had was to limit the files they can actually choose when they see the "Choose File" window (after hitting "Browse...").  Currently, that window has the "Files of Type:" dropdown with 3 values: All Files, Pictures, and HTML (strangely, no document types).  If I can force a set of file types that I define, that would be great.

    Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

    Hello Kevin P,

    Perhaps you can perform a SQL Validation based on the Filename of the document being uploaded.

    The psuedocode would look like this:

    Variable = '$(UploadField)'

    IF Variable Like '%.pdf% OR Variable Like '%.doc%'
    BEGIN
    Submit the form, it falls under the wanted type of document
    END
    ELSE
    BEGIN
    Return false and don't submit the form. Show notification message to user
    END

    If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
