There are 10 textboxes on the form. 5 of them are hidden to make the form more visually appealing. The user may tick a checkbox to reveal the additional 5 hidden textboxes. A question event runs to unhide them.
There is javascript in the Initial Javascript box that grabs a piece of a string from the contents of another textbox with a lot of data in it and then puts that piece into each of the 10 textboxes.
The user may trigger the process to distribute the data with a click on a combobox that causes a postback because of it's question event.
I have found that the process works fine for the first five textboxes that are unhidden on form open. The five that are hidden on form open but are later unhidden by the user with a question event will not receive their values from the initial javascript on a postback like the first 5 do.
If I make them all unhidden on form open, they all work fine. So the problem is related to something not happening for them during the initial form open. I think. But doesn't the inital javascript also run on a postback?
I have tried putting the script I have in the initial javascript into the client side event of the checkbox that is used to reveal the hidden textboxes, however that causes the question event to not run at all.
So I suppose the question is, how do I make the user-unhidden texboxes receive values from the initial javascript on a postback? I don't care how I do it really. I just want it to work. Thanks
