    DR 4.0.50.0
    DNN 5.2.2

    I have a Token Field called UserN in my DR.

    In the Custom Javascript File | Initial Javascript

    I am trying to use the token field similar to what I would use in Dynamic Forms.

    Here is my syntax:
    var field1 = $(UserN_FieldID);
    alert(field1);

    When I view the page, Internet Explorer gives me an error:
    'UserN_FieldID' is undefined

    Is the syntax different in DR?

    Thoughts?

    Hi Chuck,
    I don't think that the syntax is different. The error message says that 'UserN_FieldID' is undefined so something about the set up has to be off. If you can go over to www.BetaSprings.com and duplicate the situation I can look at it with you. www.betasprings.com is a good place to create a copy. Login with host, dnnhost. Make a quick sample Dynamic Registration module. Do it in the Dynamic Registration area. Then I can go look at the code and we can work together on it. Send me an email at don@datasprings.com and I will followup.
    Thanks

    Hi Don and all,
    I finally figured out how to pass a $(Token) field into the Initial Javascript section so I can use it for customization on scripts I created.

    The betasprings site:

    http://www.betasprings.com/DynRegis...fault.aspx

    My code in the Initial Javascript to test is:
    var field1;
    field1 = $(FirstN_FieldID);
    alert(field1);

    The key thing to note is that to use the $(Token) in the Initial Javascript area, I had to fire off some useless code in the respective CLIENT SIDE EVENT with:

    var nothing;

    This renders the $(Token) to be recognized.  Without it, nothing happens and you will get an UNDEFINED error for that $(Token)

    For some reason, my memory came back to me and I did a quick search on this topic.  This forum topic jogged the memory:

    So I guess my main followup question is that according to that response, is this a bug that can be fixed or is this a bug or thats the nature of the beast?

    Thanks,
    Chuck
