Registration is working but if I try to register with a username/email that already exits the screen looks like its posting (the loading image pops up) but nothing gets posted.  No error or notification.

Since it looks like it hasn't been submitted yet I click "register" again and get this:

    A critical error has occurred.
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.

    Hi Craig,
    If you go to:
Admin>Site Settings>Advanced Setings make sure that User Registration is verified, then check Registration Page is the Dynamic Registration page name. For module setting in Dynamic Registration did you set it to inherit view permissions from the page it is on?

    Thanks

    Hi Craig,

A few other thoughts for this:

    1. Please make sure that your username and password fields are mapped correctly in the DNN Core Integration section of the control panel.

    2. Because the username and passwords are user credentials, they have built-in validation that might conflict if you also set these fields as required in the field level. If you do, please removed the required setting and let us know if it behaves differently.

    3. In Module Configuration, Validation Configuration, you also have the option to enable Ajax username check. This will allow the user to be notified if the username is available before the form is submitted.

    Thanks!

    Hi Don,

I'm not sure why either one of those would work but I tried them and it didn't work.  I'm glad.  We don't want to force people to verify their accounts with our site.

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Candace,

I think you are on to something.  When I removed the "required" validation from the actual field the ajax username check worked.  But at this point the user doesn't have to enter anything in the field.  At least that's the way it appears.  We can hit submit all day and it does nothing.

Only when the username is populated will the ajax work (makes sense) and the form post correctly.

So, how do we require the username?

    thanks,

    Craig

    Hi Craig,

The module is designed with built-in validation for the username and password fields unless you choose to ignore the built-in validation from Module Configuration. Do you have this setting enabled?

Tell me the exact place to set it and I will do that.

Currently, we are at the point where:

    1.  A user tries to register with an existing username.  DynReg tells him beside the field that the username exists.   The user doesn't care and hits submit.   They get the jquery popup waiting box.  The box disappears and the form looks like it did not get submitted.  The user hits Submit again... and same thing.  No error, nothing.

    2.  If the user submits the form with perfect information.. he gets registered and logged in (if you view the Log Viewer you'll see that) BUT is never redirected to the page we selected in the completion event.  IF the user hits submit again (as I would do if I was trying to register) he gets a DNN page exception error.

I would love to talk with someone from datasprings on the phone and resolve this.  We have premium support but this issue has been going on and on.  We have been back and forth through email with Chad and need this resolved.

I log into your website with Facebook and I never get any emails that the forum post has been updated either.

    Hi folks,

For anyone following this thread, I just want to share comments from Craig.

In Module Configuration, if AJAX is set to Form Processing and Form Submission, the problem occurs and it doesn't get submitted properly. However, he got it working when he set it to Question Events only.

    Thanks, Craig!
