I have a donation form set up that users can choose their own donation amount in a simple text field. I would like to create a client side event that will output text (title of the giving level) based on the amount the user inputs. The giving levels are based on range of donation. (250-999, 1000-2000, 3000-5000 etc all the way to 25000 plus) This seems simple, but I'm not sure how to implement the client side event with a range of numbers.

Thanks in advance for any help you are able to give.

    Hi Heather,
This will be a javascript type of problem that is similar to some of the demos that are seen on the datasprings site. Demo 20 at this link would be the best to look at:
    http://www.datasprings.com/products...lculations

In the demo you will see how radio buttons are used for something like a gold and silver membership. I think gold membership is $10 and silver is $5. These are ranges in your situation and instead of calculating a numeric amount you are just going to output html text to a field based on what range ( or button) is chosen. Doesn't sound like you are doing any calculation. Looks like you will have 4 radio buttons in a radio button group ( one button for each range) and the label next to each button is the range of giving.

The basics of what you are doing is talked about in the demo.

    Thanks

    Thanks Don,
But actually that's not quite what I'm looking for. I want the user to be able to choose any donation amount from $100 all the way to $25,000, and I don't want to create radio buttons for all the increments inside that, so I was hoping to just use a text box.

The key is (whether radio buttons or text are used) I need dynamic forms to post back to the user what level of giving they have signed up for. So, I need it to read $150 as inside the range of $100-$250 and therefore return text of "Blue and Gold Club"

Perhaps it would be easier to have them choose the level first and fire a question event on that choice with radio button choices with the specific amount?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi Heather,
Ok, so it looks like what you are doing is this:
The user enters a number into a text box for his donation. There will probably be a label on question event saying something like: "Please enter a donation from $100 to $25,000". Then there will be code in the client side event that looks at the value and if it is and based on what bracket the number is in a different statement will output to your text field. Demo 30 still has information that you need on how to integrate javascript with Dynamic Forms.

I am guessing at your logic above but you likely will be using a switch statement in the javascript. Try gogling 'javascript switch statement samples' for a feel of what they are like. If you can't figure it out and this feature is very very important then you may need one of us to do the programming for you through premium support.
    Thanks
