    Hi there,

    I have a client who wanted his subscribers to have a membership number, and he wasn't happy using userid as the numbers started so low. He decided to arbitrariliy say a membership number is the userid plus 1000 - but now I'm being asked to include this number in the registration confirmation mail.

    Is this possible using Dynamic Registration and if so, how?

    Hi Steve,

    There are a few options here...

    1. You can create a fake ID from another table or maybe not even a number but a generated GUID or set of characters... We have several forum threads that related to created things such as "Order ID's using the SQL default feature of Dynamic Forms / Registration.

    2. You could always add users into the Users table (such as using Interactive User Import) and then delete all of these users (their is a "Purge all non admin users in Interactive User Import"). The perk here is that since this is not just a primary key buy actually a special ID/Primary KEY in the database this ID will always increment. For example, if you imported 5,000 users... Then deleted all of those users (using our modules or even the core DNN method) and then added a new user, the UserID for that user would be 5001 and not actually 5000.

    Thanks for that Chad, but I think perhaps I did not make my problem clear. It's not generating the number that is the issue, but including it in an email.

    I am happy enough to use the userid+1000, but I want to know how I can get that to appear in an email sent by dynamic registration. If this is not possible without using a seperate field, then how do I set the new field to be userid + 1000? The client has lready been emailing existing users telling them their membership number is x where x=userid+1000, so I am forced down this route now, and have to change the regsitration confirmation mail to include this number.

    I did a forum search of the string "Order ID's using the SQL default feature of Dynamic Forms / Registration" from your mail above, and it returned many, many hits, none of which seemed to relate.
