Hello,
I can't save any of the fields I've linked to DNN core. I've tried changing the value in user accounts, and the change is reflected on the profile page. But when I try to change it in the profile page, it just reverts back to the original setting. Can anyone help me out with this?
I'm using Dynamic Registration 4.0.5.0 with DNN 5.6.1.
Thanks, Richard

Hi Richard, Did you create a map to the dnn core with each question by using the 'quick create' link for each question in advanced field options for each question's short name? There are some fields that I believe are part of the core dnn and you don't need to mess with them as they are part of all registration setups. They are: User Name,First Name, Last Name, Display Name, and Email address. Try doing this walk through. Then you will know if you are doing things right. To test your Dynamic Registration go to another browser like IE and then login as one of the test users. Then navigate to the Dynamic Registration page. The user's profile properties should populate in the Dynamic Registration page ( i.e. the person that is logged in). Because you are having problems not everything maybe showing except the core dnn fields I mentioned. Try this, change one of values in a profile field that is not one of those listed and submit the form. Then use a different browser like FF and login as administrator. Then go to the Admin>user accounts and see if the value is there. If it isn't and it probably wont be then go to the Dynamic Registration page and click edit for this profile. This will likely be the little pencil symbol. Make sure you have a simple one word short name for this profile. Then go to advanced field options and click the 'quick create' link next to the DNN Core Field area for this question. Things will process for a bit. You have to save the change by clicking update settings and then exit. If you do the above right then go to the other browser where you are logged in as the user. Refresh the web page and now enter a value in the form like before and submit the form. You should now be able to go back to the browser where you are logged in as an administrator and when you go to admin > user accounts for this user you should see the value in this profile field for this user that you put in the form when you entered it from the other browser as the logged in user. If this works and I think it will, you will then know what to do with all the other profile fields to get them mapped to the core. If you have a problem then one of us may need to go into your site and check it out. Let us know if you need any help here. Thanks

Hey Don,
Thank you for the fast reply. I tried what you said, but it didn't work. I also tried creating a new field, and after using 'Quick Create Property', the new field appeared in the User Accounts. But after switching to the user account, inserting a value and submitting the form, I rechecked the User Accounts page and the new value did not appear.
I tested it further and found that if I added a value directly into the User Accounts page, it would show up in the new field, in Dynamic Registration. But trying to change it as the user and submit the form would not change the value, and it would reset to whatever the value is in User Accounts. Same goes for the Time Zone and Country fields, which always revert to the default setting ('Always Force Default' is disabled for all fields, in case you ask).
What else should I try? Let me know if you need me to provide any further information.
Thanks, Richard

Hi Richard, I believe that this is a known issue with Dynamic Registration 4.0 and DNN 5.6.1. The 4.0 release doesn't support DNN 5.5.x or higher (the module and 4.0 release were never tested against 5.5.x as its a couple of years old now). So I believe this is a jQuery issue, you might want to download the 4.1 release or download a trial version. Thanks, chad
