dnnCountry field sets focus to start of form

    I have an address sign up form. When the user gets to the dnnCountry field, he selects his country. Then the form processes something and then sets focus back to the first field on the page.

    I would at least like the focus to stay on the same field or go to the next field in my form.

    Any way to do this?

    Hello James,

    The DNN Country field is somewhat buggy and can't be customized, here's a better work around than using that question type.

    Make your question field a question type of Combo Box. Use SQL Driven Options and provide this query:

    select Text as QuestionOption, Text As QuestionOptionValue from Lists where
    listname = 'Country' order by QuestionOption

    What this query pulls in is almost identical to the DNN Country field, except you can customize the query anyway you'd like.

    You can do the same thing for states:

    select Text as QuestionOption, Text As QuestionOptionValue from Lists where
    listname = 'Region' and ParentID = 221 order by QuestionOption

    I am using a SQL driven combo box as suggested however not only does it go to the top of the page but the focus is no longer on the form at all. This is very frustrating as the form is some what lengthy.....

    Hi Jason,

    There are a few properties which could affect these.... IS the form focus going to the top of the page after a question event or after form validation?

    One thing you could always do is choose to not force the user to top or bottom of the page if the issue is coming up after validation... Otherwise the other thing you can do is to disable the option of forcing the user to the first field on the form which is a setting within module configuration, general settings as well.
