I just got the trial version of Dynamic Login to see if there was any way to set redirect and permissions the way I'm looking to do it.  I know it might now be the normal way logins work, but I have 5 different pages that I want to allow users to be able to login from.  Is there any way that I can set the redirect from each login page separately?  I have 5 different permission settings for different types of users, but some users will only be able to use certain pages and I want to set the permissions so that my users can login based on the type of users but depending on the entry point be redirected to a different page.  I know this is a little complicated sounded but any help would be greatly appreciated!.

    Hi Scott,

Yes, the redirection rules of each instance of Dynamic Login should be independent of the others so you can do this.

Please refer to the User Guide to set up role redirection and please let us know if you have additional questions.

    Thanks!

I found that I have a problem when I change the settings from one of the modules it erases the permissioins for the same user in the other modules.  Is there any way to make sure they stay?

Every time I add a list of user setting in the Dynamic Login settings it erases out of the other page that has the Dynamic Login module.  I can't seem to get multiple redirects to stick on multiple modules any answers to that?

Hi. Yes it should allow for this... Are you using the Dynamic Login "Module" or the Dynamic Login "Authentication Provider"? I ask because the authentication provider should be portal specific (so you can't have the same) but the module should be module instance specific.

Also, when you added the module to the page, are you adding the module using the "Copy" function or "Add Existing Module"? In DNN, if you use the "Add Existing Module" then the module will have the exact same module ID (this number should appear on the module itself) and any setting you do to that module will be the exact same on the other page (its the same module). So you will need to choose "Add New Module" and not"Add Existing Module".

    Thanks,

    Chad

DataSprings_DynamicLogin_04.10.30_DNN50Plus_TrialVersion is the one I installed. Your right the same version comes up, but I erased one of the modules and tried to Add New Module into the same page, and reset up the module (it came up with the same version again?).  Is there somewhere I upload the trial to get everythin working the way I want with different versions?  Plus do I need to erase all the DNN permission settings because they seem to be coming into conflict with the Dynamic Login redirect?

Hi. Well what is more important is not the actual module version, but the actual module ID. Does it show a unique Module ID? If you change other settings besides this one do those settings stay the same?

When you added the module to a page did you choose to "Add new module" or "Add existing module" from the add module menu within the control panel of DotNetNuke? Make sure you add a new module instance and not an existing module instance.

    Thanks,

    Chad

I definitely "Added new module"  and I can't seem to find the module id, but the same problem occured with the transfer of redirect.  Where can I find the module id#?

    Thank you for you help,

I just took off all other logins and "added new module" on 2 of the 5 pages I need to add it to just to double check and make sure I had everything right.  I added 2 different users and put the redirects in but they disappeared off the prior Dynamic login roles as soon as I put the same ones into the second one?

Hmmm... Ok, so to verify are you choosing these as "standard redirects within the module configuration", or "individual user redirects", or "role redirects", or "role group redirects"?

Initially I was only referring to the general redirect within the module configuration, default redirect page... if you are setting these up as individual user redirects then its possible this is not moduleID specific. I believe the role redirects should be module ID specific though... I guess this has't come up before but I know the general redirect under module configuration has been used for this purpose before.

Ah mk looks like we're getting closer to whats all going on.  To help give more specifics.  Under "Security Role Rules" I put in a user type for example Registered user or Subscriber.  If I put those same roles on a different page in the same "Security Role Rules area it erases the prior settings I had on the other module.  I do see that under Module Configuration I can redirect a group of users to one page, but I'd like to allow all my users to login under any login they want, but if they don't have permissions to be in the redirected page of the current module they are signing in from the user is directed to the page they are permitted on based on their user roll.  I was thinking about setting up "Security Role Group Rules" to do this;  I just can't figure out how to make a "Role Group" yet.  I was thinking about making multiple different role groups (so they don't erase between modules) and adding the same user name just to the different "Role Groups", but like I said I can't figure out how to make a group yet, and I'm not even sure if this method would work?

    Please advise!

You've been a great help so far, and I thank you!

    Scott
