Hi I'm trying the trial version of Dynamic Forms to see if I can get it to accomplish my task, I've been able to get it to do a simple calculation, but I am stuck on combining values in a second calculation. Here's what I am trying to accomplish (short name in parenthesis):

    Fields:
Number of Nights (Numbero) //Combo Box
    Rate (Rate) //Text Field
    Sub Total (SubTo) //text field
Cleaning Fee (Cleaning) //text field w/static value
Tax (Tax) //text field w/static value
    Grand Total (GrandTo)

I need to process the following calculation:
    ((Numbero * Rate) + Cleaning) * Tax = GrandTo

Right now I have the following in the client side events fields:

    Numbero:
    $(SubTota) = parseInt($(Numbero)) * parseInt($(Rate))

    Rate:
    $(SubTota) = parseInt($(Numbero)) * parseInt($(Rate))

    SubTo:
    $(SubTota) = parseInt($(Numbero)) * parseInt($(Rate));$(GrandTo) = parseInt($(SubTota)) + parseInt($(Cleaning)) * parseInt($(Tax))

    Cleaning:
    $(SubTota) = parseInt($(Numbero)) * parseInt($(Rate));$(GrandTo) = parseInt($(SubTota)) + parseInt($(Cleaning)) * parseInt($(Tax))

    Tax:
    $(SubTota) = parseInt($(Numbero)) * parseInt($(Rate));$(GrandTo) = parseInt($(SubTota)) + parseInt($(Cleaning)) * parseInt($(Tax))

    GrandTo:
    $(SubTota) = parseInt($(Numbero)) * parseInt($(Rate));$(GrandTo) = parseInt($(SubTota)) + parseInt($(Cleaning)) * parseInt($(Tax))

The SubTo field is calculating correctly, but I cant get the GrandTo field to calculate.

    Can you help?

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Hello Brian,

Ok let's start with your formula:

    GrandTo:
    $(SubTota) = parseInt($(Numbero)) * parseInt($(Rate));$(GrandTo) = parseInt($(SubTota)) + parseInt($(Cleaning)) * parseInt($(Tax))

Now obviously we need to ensure that all of the tokens are rendering as values. Can you run a JavaScript alert statement in every onClient Side event to ensure that all calculations before the Grand total, are calculating prooperly.

This can take some time to test. But if everything is calculating correctly, then lets look over your formula.

I see that you're using the SubTota in every on Client side event as if this field will handle the grand total at the very end. So you may want to consider using the plus equals operator (+=):

Try this in every on Client side event:

    GrandTo:
    $(SubTota) += parseInt($(Numbero)) * parseInt($(Rate));$(GrandTo) = parseInt($(SubTota)) + parseInt($(Cleaning)) * parseInt($(Tax))

If that's not it, then can you please list out the sort order of the fields Numero -> GrandTotal. The order of these fields need to be taken into account.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
