    Hi,

My form has an optional File Upload field. Is there a way to detect whether the user has chosen a file to upload or not when they submit? I'd like to know so I can have different completion events based on whether there's a file uploaded or not. (for example, putting in the link to the uploaded file plus some text in an email if there is a file uploaded)

    I'm using

    Dynamic Forms Version: 3.40.60.25772
    DotNetNuke Version: 5.6.2

I've tried making a Hidden Field keep track of whether there's a file upload or not.

The Hidden Field "hasFile" has default value of "No". I have a Question Event that's triggered for the File Upload field, and I checked the "Execute event for any response" box. "hasFile" is the affected question, and its default value gets set to "Yes". Then in the form submission event, I check for the value of "hasFile".

I thought this would work, but it seems that the Question event is triggered after the form submission event. Because the value of "hasFile" did not get changed by the form submission, however, since I don't have a form completion redirect event, if I submit form again, the value of "hasFile" was recorded as "yes"
