I have created a completion event that sends an email upon an initial registration.  However, when I created an email template and clicked on "Update Event", the template did not save.  When I go back in to edit the event, the template is blank.

The email does fire when a user registers as set but it is blank as well.

I then clicked on Generate Results Template and created the email template that way.  This email will fire and all the information in the template.  However, this sends information that I don't want.

However, I cannot go back in and edit the template.  When I try to do so the changes do not save.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Jim,

I have seen this before if you are using IE9 as your Browser. The fix for me was to use Google Chrome and I was able to create/edit the email template.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Hi Jim,

Can you please tell me your exact Dynamic Registration version and your DNN version, too?

Also try this: from Module Configuration, be sure that AJAX is disabled and edit again. If it still does not save, try the edit again, but this time, before you hit update, switch the editor from Rich Text to Basic.

    Thanks!

    Hi guys,

Yes this does sound like a problem with the earlier versions of Dynamic Registration (or if you upgraded the module at one point?). The problem was with a limitation in the character / size amount. For example, maybe you are trying to copy/paste from Word which adds a lot of extra content into the email event and the limit was (at one point) set to 4000 characters maybe?

    Thanks,

    Chad

Thanks, Dennis - I tried it with Google Chrome and it worked fine!!!

Candace and Chad: I did check and AJAX was disabled. I tried the update using Basic instead of Rich Text with the same issue of the template not saving when cliciking on "Update Event." In case it was an issue with the number of characters, I tried creating an email template from scratch with just one field - no luck. However, when I used "Generate Results Template" which includes all of my fields and a many more characters, it would save. Interestingly, I could not reduce the number of rows from that generated template and have it save.

In any event, as noted, using Google Chrome instead of IE9 did the trick.

FYI - I am using DNN 5.6.2 and Dynamic Registration version 4.10.70. Is this the most current version of Dynamic Registration?

Thanks for the help and particularly to you, Dennis.
