Hi, I have a form with a field called Team Members. I would like the user to type a name in the box, click a link and the name is added to a separate "Teams" table. So, it would work like a data grid but save the name entries to a separate table. I have a few issues to work out.

    1. How to make a link that submits to the Teams table, but does not complete the form submission.

    2. How to write a reference into the Teams table that ties it to the form entry (but the form hasn't been submitted yet). Likely need some kind of hidden reference ID unless the UniqueCompletionID exists already, but I think that is created on submission.

Ideally, I would like a grid below the entry box that populates the names (SQL query) from the Teams table as names are entered.

Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks for your questions and for your post.... Let me see if I can answer some of these questions.

    1. I think you would need to possibly have the form as another module instance maybe? Maybe a specific module instance that is very small and is used to add entries to this table?

    2. Not sure I understand what you need for the reference, but maybe if the dropdownlist of possible teams that have been added is there, or maybe even using DNN Text Suggest and/or possibly the ability to use SQL Validation and verify that the team entered is the right team?) would be a good idea?

Those are the only ideas I can think off the top of my head... if you need more direct implementation assistance we can provide these services via our Premium Support services at http://www.datasprings.com/PremiumSupport. Otherwise, maybe another customer has some suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Chad
