How can I allow initial entry in a field on a Dynamic Registrations form, but protect the field from being edited when the user returns to the form anytime after the initial save?

There are a few special fields that have that requirement on my form. Thanks!

    Hello Whetstone,

Have you considered using JavaScript to make fields disabled or readonly?

Allowing initial entry into a field dictates that the user is registering for an account right? This means that the user is unauthenticated. You can create conditional JavaScript against the '$(UserID)' token.

If a user is not logged in, the value of '$(UserID)' = '-1'

If a user is authenticated, the value of $(UserID)' = 'The User ID of the user account'

    So just as psuedocode:

    IF UserID = -1
    THEN DISABLE CONTROL
    ELSE
    ENABLE CONTROL

Let me know if this pushes you in the right direction.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Hi Ryan, thanks for your good idea. Yes, this heads me in the direction of something that will work. In my case, I think I'll use javascript to test if there is already something in the textbox and if so disable it.That will work. Thanks a bunch!
