Have there been any changes to Dynamic Forms / Paypal integration in the last 3-4 months?

I ask because a form that was working in May-June isn't working now.  When it returns from Paypal, it redirect to the site's home page, not to the form page and, presumably as a result, the form completion events that should follow sucessful Paypal transaction are not firing.

Also, how can I test this?  When I enable Test mode, I see what is sent to Paypal, but nothing proceeds beyond that poing.

    Hi Joe,

I haven't heard specific changes that affects the redirect function. Let me ask you a few questions:

    1. What is your exact DF version?

    2. What is your DNN version?

    3. Do you have a redirect completion event tied to "Redirect Successfully?

    4. Also, was there a change to the DF page's security? It needs to be visible to ALL users so that PayPal can talk back to it without a login.

    Thanks!

    Thanks, Candace!

I think that issue is #4. We were making some price changes on the form and made it private temporarily to test. Naturally, the test fails that way.

But ... at least I know what to do.

    Thanks a bundle!

    Hmmmm. That wasn't it.

I changed to page to be visible to all users and redid a transaction.

When the Paypal thing is done, I'm left on a Paypal page that says "Thanks for your order" which gives me a link to return to my site. When I click that, I'm redirected back to the home page, not the page where the form lives. And, the events don't happen.

Is there a way to debug this?

    Hi Joe,

There are a few things that may be affecting this so let me throw out some places that you can check:

    1. How did you set your redirect? I suggest you create a redirect completion event and make sure that you have it linked to the Redirect Successfully PayPal status.

    2. Now you said the other events don't fire either. Please go to Admin, Event Viewer and see if you can follow any events firing/not firing based on PayPal IPNs. If you don't see anything, you may have to enable logging for Debug Info (you need to be logged in as Host). What do you see here?

    3. You might also check this out for other important tips: http://www.datasprings.com/news/blo...ter-paypal

    Thanks,

    Candace,

This has been working and now has stopped working.  So, it's a bit odd.

    I have these completion events:
    • CancelledReturn (redirect)
    • Store in Database (SQL)
    • To Registrar (email)
    • To Registrant (email)
    • Completed (Redirect)
The SQL event isn't happening.  Neither of the two emails is being sent.

Both of the redirects are supposed to go back to the Registration page.  I have a "Thank you" for successful completion.

All of the events are for "Any response".

    --------
I haven't found where to log debug info.  Is that in the Event Viewer?  I haven't seen any Dynamic Forms events there.  Where/how do I turn this on?

Hmmmm. We are using Dynamic Forms 3.40.50 and DotNetNuke 5.6.2.

Is an upgrade of the module necessary to get the logging?

Hi Joe - I know that there have been many changes since the 3.4 release (especially related to 5.6.2) but I am not sure I know what specific differences there are with regards to logging. I do know that 4.1 is the only supported version of Dynamic Forms against 5.5.x or higher though.

    Thanks,

    Chad

    Thanks Chad and Candace,

As it turns out (and isn't this often the case) this was my error. Actually, everything WAS working correctly, but the emails were delayed ...

    Just waiting solved that problem.

Thanks for a GREAT product, and GREAT support. See you in about a month.
