verified registration issue

    I am using DL 4.0.11 with verified registration and the option to use email addresses to login which is the primary means of logging in for the my users (using their email address).

    Problem

    When a user registers and receives the email, there is a link that when clicked brings the user to the login page. The user name field defaults to the user name (not the email address which is fine) except that the user then attempts to login by changing the username to their email address, enter their password and when they click login only then does the verification code field display. So they then enter their code and click login but because the password field is now blank they get an error. So they then enter their email address, password and code and for some reason the email address is not recognized at that point and they cannot log in.

    I am getting many users registering on my site but remain unauthorized because they can't login.

    The core dnn verification process brings you to the login page with the code field displayed and the code populated. So then the user can just enter their password and login.

    Is there a way to have the verification code field displayed and pre-populated by default when the user clicks from the email? And if they change the username to their email address that the module would recognize that as valid?

    Hi Rheebo - The verification process changed within the latest versions of DotNetNuke I believe and is now an encrypted version instead of how it used to work. I believe this started in DNN 6.2.x. Can you tell me specifically what version of DotNetNuke you are running on?

    Hi Chad

    Sorry for the delayed response. I am running dnn 6.0.1 and am anxiously awaiting on a couple of modules to confirm compatibility for 6.2 before I upgrade.

    I need to have the login process simplified and loved the idea of facebook login but can't get the version I have (DL 4.0.11) working on my site for some reason ( The email address comes back from facebook blank). So I disabled the facebook piece and now am dealing with users that can't figure out how to handle the verification on login. I lose half of those trying to log in.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    I just want to have a single location for the discussion. Right now I know that we are having a few problems with the code we created within Dynamic Registration for this same issue (Verification code) but I want to make sure we resolve it correctly first before we move that same code over to Dynamic Login. This is the highest priority for me this week as far as a patch so I really would like to get this fixed up shortly.

    I would also be able to schedule a call with you for maybe Wednesday or Thursday to knock out any issues that you are still having with Dynamic Login and the verification code on that call?
