Please see the attached screen shot of a form that has excessive white space and alignment issues.

If these issues can be controlled from module settings, which settings are involved?

If these issues require code changes in a .css or .ascx file, which file?

    Thank you
    Don Lowrey

    Hello Don,

From this example PDF that you provided I can tell that you have 5 columns.

It seems that Unit/Apt has a Colspan of 2 under Question -> Question Look and feel. This file that you provided simply outlines where one column started and ends(Because everything in a column stops at a certain location.)

By properly using the Colspan feature on all fields you should be able to get all fields into a column of your liking. You need to think of the way that an HTML table operates with TD's, this is how and why you're getting the layout you've displayed.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Take a look at this guy's table format, it serves as a good example of HTML table layout:

Good morning Ryan, thanks for your help.

The form you referenced is basically stacking blocks of textboxes. I need a form in which the width of the form corresponds to the expected input. For example, City, State and Zip. Three fields, each with a different widths, all on the same row but without a large gap beetween them.

I have now set labels/Questions to be over the textbox, which helps but still leaves the gaps.  You mentioned changing Col Span.  Setting FirstName to a Col Span of 5, instead of the default 1, only pushes LastName further right and increases the unwanted white space gap. Am I missing something?

A concrete example, in which I can see the settings, would be helpful. Can you send me a link? Or, another thought, do you know of a commercial site that has successfully solved the problem. Perhaps you could send me the developer's email?

    Regards
    Don Lowrey

I have also worked with putting the labels in the same column as the field. This helps but

    Hello Don,

Can you please go to www.betasprings.com and recreate an example of what you have. Then add an HTML module onto the same page using HTML and HTML TABLES to indicate what you'd like the layout to look like?

    Username: Host
    Password: dnnhost

Please add a Page anywhere on this site and recreate your example. After completion, please provide me the URL to your example. I'll compare your Dynamic Forms layout to the HTML Layout you provide.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Thanks Ryan

We have decided to put this issue aside for now because we have to get some other tasks completed.  For now we are just going with easiest approach.  Thank you for your time and help.
