    Ultimately here is what I'm trying to accomplish.
    I have an event management system I'm building.
    I've created a dashboard where the user builds out a schedule of sessions for a day of the event.

    Basically They are on screen A and I send them to screen B which has a dynamic form on it. I pass some values there are working with over to form B in the Query string.  Form B has a Dynamic form on it.  After form B inserts a new record I want to send them back to Form A and preserve the querystring values.

    $(URLReferrer) would work perfect for this except 'http://' keeps getting forced in from of the output of $(URLReferrer).

    For the record the site I'm working with has a sub-domain on it as it is the dev environment.  Once we go live we will deploy to a different domain so I don't want to hardcode the URL.  Example is today I am on test.mycompany.com and when we go live it will be www.myclient.com

    So end result is that when I post the page it tries to redirect to: http://http://test.mycompany.com?eventID=2

    I've even gone in to the DB and removed the forced http:// but then the form will not redirect at all (I'm guessing there is code in place to check for the presence of http://)

    Hello concentrium,

    You could always trim the $(URLReferrer) token value before the form is submitted. So remove the http:// from the value so when you're redirecting the http:// will be added in automatically.

    You should be able to do this will SQL or JavaScript.

    When are you attempting to Redirect to this constructed URL? Upon form completion? Are you just saving the value for use later?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Thanks for the quick response Ryan. I'm trying to use the $(URLReferrer) as the target on submission of the form. Meaning after they submit the form I run 2 events. First one calls a Stored Procedure to "UPSERT" the data in to a table then I want to redirect them back to the place they just came from (and preserve the URL tokens they brought with them so an OWS module on the Referring page can repopulate itself. I'm not storing the $(URLReferrer) in the DB. I'm trying to place it in the external URL value of the Redirect event. Any other ideas?

    Hello,

    You'll need to strip the "http://" from the URLReferrer token on the client site. Please use this JavaScript method to do so.
    http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/jsre...eplace.asp

    The Replace will allow you to replace "http://" with '' nothing. You'll want to perform this in the Module Configuration -> Avanced Coding Options -> Custom JavaScript File -> Submit JavaScript.

    You should be able to use JavaScript similar to this:

    var URL = $(URLReferrer);
    var URLReplace = URL.replace("http://", "");

    $(URLReferrer) = URLReplace;

    So the entire idea is to get the http:// stripped from the Question value right before the form is submitted. That will ensure that the URL pieces together nicely. As I'm not familiar with your Form, you may need to make minor tweaks to the JavaScript above.

    Let me know if this works for you.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
