Redirect only one role

    I want to institue a suspended account role on my site, for clients who haven't paid their support contract. 

    Instead of deleting their account i want to put them in a role that would get a message about their contract when they logged in. 

    However, I want to also still have every other role on site redirect to previous url when using the login module. 

    I can set it so the suspended role gets the message, but it seems to make every other user (the vast majority) redirect to home when they login (which would be a major pain for most users). 

    Is there anyway in settings to accomplish just one role getting redirected and everyone else getting their previous url?

    Hello Amy,

    Dynamic Login has a feature called "Security Role Rules". From here you can setup different redirection rules for users with specific roles.

    This feature is perfect for what you're requirement is, based on this post.

    Please review this feature, you'll find that it'll do exactly what you need.

    Hi Ryan,

    yes i set up a security role role and it works fine, but only if i uncheck "Override user and role redirection rules and always redirect to previous URL" on the module configuration tab.

    If I uncheck that every other user bounces to home page after logging in, regardless of where on the site they clicked the login link from.

    what i want is to redirect everyone else to the page the came from, and only redirect this one role to the warning page.

    Should i be able to do that?

    Hello Amy,

    I don't think you'll be able to achieve this with Dynamic Login. If you're using the Return User to Previous page after successful login, then this will apply to everyone. This feature doesn't have the capability to enable or disable this feature on a role by role basis.

    I don't know how you would work around this one. You may need to consider alternative solutions that can achieve this. I haven't come across this request before with Dynamic Login. I can see how a feature that can achieve this functionality would be useful. I'll submit a enhancement request for Dynamic Login and this "Alternate Redirection Rule".
