    Hi Kaustav,

Yes, by using the default as watermark. If you choose this, remember to set up a default value under the Advanced Field Options.

Then, expand the Look and Feel section and check the 'hide field labels.'

For the dropdown field, you can add 'State' as the top option but give it a value of -1.

    Thanks for your question.

    Hello,

I would recommend using the Watermark feature. This feature works for Textboxes. Combo Boxes, you'll have to add an Initial Value with "* State" or whatever the type of combo box it is.

Please review this demonstration to learn more of how to achieve this type of functionality:

    Thanks,

Thanks for your reply.  I've created the form on http://m.allguardsystems.com.temp.r...tment.aspx page and made all the fields required.  But as there is value in the text box so it's not showing me any message after clicking the submit button when I don't put any value for any of the required fields.

Please let me know how not to send the form results without filling the required fields.

    Thanks

    Hello Kaustav,

Can you please let me know the version of DNN and Dynamic Forms that you're operating on??

You may need to build a SQL Validation per Required Field. Here's an example of how you can configure this to ensure that the user is providing a value for your required watermark fields.

Let's focus on your Business Name field. We're going to say that the short field name is "BusinessName". We're also going to say that the Watermark value is "Business Name *". So manage the BusinessName Question and go under Question Validation and enable SQL Validation by checking the checkbox.

    Then provide the following query:

    IF '$(BusinessName)' = 'Business Name *'
    BEGIN
    Select 'False' As IsValid
    END
    ELSE
    BEGIN
    Select 'True' As IsValid
    END

You can then provide an error message text of: "Please provide a value for Business Name". So this SQL Validation is becoming a Required Field type of operation, however a Required field doesn't really cover the fact that there is a value in the field, and to realize that the initial value is a watermark rather than an actual value. That's why you'll need to use the SQL Validation.

Please test on only business name, if it works great, then apply to all required fields on your form and disable the Required Field functionality for each question.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Ryan,

Thanks for your help.  It's working now.  One more thing.  I want to display '*' next to the field.  Rifht now it's showing at the top.

Please let me know how to do that.

    Thanks

I would recommend going into MOdule Configuration -> Validation Configuration and see if you can find the right combination for your "* labels" based on your requirements.

If worse comes to worse, you can use HTML and CSS to align the text that you need.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
