    Hi friendly forum folk…

    We are utilizing a Dynamic Forms multi page application (Ver:4.0.11.14620 / 6.2.0).  We are saving the data at each page, and giving the user the option to “Save and Go Back” and “Save and Go Next.”

    We are using the following functionality:

    <!--[if !supportLists]--> ·         <!--[endif]-->For “Save and Go Back”  we are using the “Submit” functionality and have a completion event to go back

    <!--[if !supportLists]--> ·         <!--[endif]-->For “Save and Go Forward” we use the “Save for Later” button and give it a completion event to move to the next page.

    Our problem the “Save for Later” functionality does not check required fields or verify other field requirements.

    If the functionality doesn’t exist, we might be able to pay for some custom work.  We are on a tight time constraint here.

    Ultimately we trying to achieve a "Previous" and "Next" button that fires all the completion events, validations, and moves to the proper page.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Tim

    Hi Tim,

    The Save for Later feature might not be the right solution for you. Please visit www.datasprings.com/formdemos and see Demo 31 for an example of multiple pages with the forward and back functionality.

    Thanks!

    Candace,

    I am working with Tim on this issue. I have followed the Demo and added the HTML button and it navigates to the correct page but it still is not triggering the validation or completion events such as writing to the database.

    Thanks,
    Kerrie

    Hello Kerrie,

    There are two types of Form Submissions:

    * Submit
    * Save for Later

    The Submit submission will include all validations on the form. If all validations don't pass then the form is not submitted successfully. Once all validations are passed, Form Completion Events will be called.

    The Save for Later submission will ignore all validations on the form. Then will call any Form Completion Events specified to fire for:

    1. Save for Later
    2. Both Save & Save for Later

    If you need to have 2 working submit buttons that submit the form with validations enabled, you may want to consider creating your own Custom HTML buttons that call the same event as the default submit button.

    Only difference is that you can create a Hidden Field to act as the field responsible to fire different Form Completion Events.

    I don't really want to ramble on about this methodology since I'm uncertain of your expertise level.

    Basically this is going to require JavaScript skills to incorporate this functionality 100%.

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
