Using DR as a form for user signup event other than core DNN Registration.  A User needs to be able to use the form multiple times to sign up for different events.  Each time a user goes back to the "event - signup" page  the dynamic questions using combo boxes are defaulted to what the user entered the last time the form was completed.  I have the defaults set in >Advanced field options>Default value.  The form is defaulted correctly the first time the info is entered, but after it is entered once. ... it stays that way and will not go back to the original defaults.... Is there any way to clear or reset the fields to default after completion/registration?

I am using two types of combo boxes driven by sql statments and set up through >Manage Questions>Question Options and using the default function in Advanced Field Options>Default Value.

    Thanks in advance

    H

    Hi.

Well Dynamic Forms (2.5 beta is being release this week with awesome new features! ) is really meant for implementations like this as its not really used for direct core integration registration and so forth. In this case the module is working by design (default is only the default for initial registration, after that it should stick to what the user selected before). That being said, the default does show up for registered users updating their registration if there are no values in the database for that field. So the solution would be to use a SQL Event to clear the fields for just that field each and every submission, this way the form would then render the default and not the previous selection. If you decide to go with the 'clearing fields via SQL' let me know if you have this linked to a core field or not and I can dig up a SQL query that would clear the data out from the tables.

The fields that I need cleared are not linked to a dnn core field.

I have DR in two instances on my website... First collects the users info.. that goes into core....

Once I have the users info... they can register for events... Most events are pulled from a series of queries from a table in a database depending on the way a user answers questions...

Then on the "submit" event I need a couple of things to happen...

Sql event to clear the selections so the next time the user goes to sign up for an event.. .the selections are cleared or set back to default.

1-A page redirect.... which DR allows me to do

2-I need run a sql statement that will insert a product from the dnn store list... into the users current cart id shopping cart... Havent' figured that one out yet

    3-SQL to clear the fields

Speaking of which... Is it possible to do the following in your module:possible to add a reference to a DLL and to call a method of this DLL.?

    Read DNN forum thread

    All that being said..

Help with number 2 and 3 from above would be greatly appreciated

    Ok...

    So # 2 and #3.

#2: Ok... Well do you have access to the DNN CartID from a session or querystring variable? I think this is the only method you can use to actually use use the cartID. Unfortunatly the module does have the ability to tap directly into the .dll and use the .AddCart method etc... You would have to customize the store or Dynamic Registration to do this... If you don't have this variable as a cookie or session variable, do you have it as a cookie? There might be a work around that if you have the cartID as a cookie... Has the user already 'Addveed the item to cart' so that they have a cart ID?

Also, some stores allow you to add a product based on a querystring variable. Could you possibly pass a variable from Dynamic Registration to the Shopping cart that would then add that particular item to the cart automatically. I think a good majority of shopping carts out there can accept querystring parameters that will automatically add the item to the cart this way. You would have to ask any vendors though specifically to see if their module offered this.

#3 - As a SQL Completion Event you would need to execute something to delete the fields out of that table... Something like this:
Delete from DynamicRegistration_QuestionResponse where DynamicQuestionID = (Select DynamicQuestionID from DynamicRegistration_Question where ShortFieldName = 'FNAME')

That is assuming the short field name is 'FNAME' for the field data you want to delete. This is data saved that is completely seperate from the DNN Core Field integration.

Hope this helps... Also, Dynamic Registration 3.1 now supports full integration with Authorizenet... Is this not an option for you?

It seems that if you have a delete sql statement in any completion event.....DR will not post to any other page than the registration event after completion.
It stays on the Registration after Clicking 'Register/Update Registration'.

I can get the info deleted to "refresh" the page, and the tables are updated... but no post to anywhere.

    Any Ideas?
