I am using DNN 04.05.03, OptIn 3 and firefox and when I send a mail through the scheduler it strips out my images. When I send the same mail without scheduling it the images work fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Slouch

actually its adding the www.mydomain.com in front of the image path...so stripping the path to /portals/0/.... it works, but it still screws up background images places in the style properties of the tag. |

What do you have setup in the settings for the header tag? Also, we have an option (should be a patch under Patches and Hot Fixes on Snowcovered) to turn off the ability to use/add a BHREF tag. This feature is sometimes needed/not needed depending on the exact Rich Text Editor you are using so it sounds like you need to swap this flag.

I am currently having this problem as well with scheduled emails also . Images added using the rich text editor are not being sent. But they are if the email is sent immediately and not scheduled.
I can hard code my images in directly (inserting full URL) and it fixes the problem, but my clients are not going to know how to do this.
I am not sure what your last response means with this "BHREF" option. Please show me where that is and explain more what you mean here.
Again the images send fine if the scheduler is not used, only when it is used.
Thanks for your help |

Alavri, Hi. If you are seeing a difference between the send now method and the schedule immediately or schedule for a future distribution then you should make sure you have the latest 04.20.30 version. As far as the BASE HREF, there are a few settings which can impact this... Specifically what do you have for these two settings: 1. Do not replace images with full portal alias and 2. Email Header Tag These two settings can impact how images appear within the newsletter (and also depending on which Rich Text Editor you are using etc...) -Chad |

Hello , I have version 4.2.1 for "Do Not Replace images with full portal alias" this box is checked for: Email Header Tag, this text box is empty. What I need is for the to be as EASY as possible for the client. They will be adding images using the Rich text editor only. The emails will be sent as Schedule Immediately only. What is the setting I should have for this to work? Also if I have "Do Not Replace images with full portal alias" NOT checked, and I have full URL images in the template, will these be affected?. The final emails that are sent out will be a combination of two images hard coded (complete URLs) plus any images the clients adds. I can create a Template using the rich text editor and uploading it's images through that if this will make it easier. Thanks for your help. |

Hi. Can you please download Opt In Email 4.2.30 from Patches and Hotfixes (or MyDownloads if you're on the Collection) and let us know if it helps your case? Thanks!

Hello, I have upgraded to 4.2.3 and it is still stripping images . I just got quite a heated email from my client, he is not very happy as there has been a couple of issues with this installation. Please provide a solution for this. The images are only stripped when sent using the scheduler. looking closely at the email that was sent, it has only the relative URL for the image: "/Portals/0/swordplayers.jpg" without the domain. Please show me how to fix this so my client can create and send out his own emails . Thank you. |

Alavri, Hi. Yes as Candace mentioned please open a support ticket as we might need host rights to review this. This is because multiple Rich Text Editors can have different options for saving the full patch to an image or just the relative path. So... Therefore its based on a few settings. 1. Replace image with full portal alias 2. Header Tag (Are you using a BASE HREF in there?) -Chad |

The issue appears to be fixed now. I switched the setting for "Do not replace images with full portal alias: " to unchecked, and now the images are showing up properly.
I also upgraded to your most recent version, The other error where the images would show up with "schedule immediately" but not "send immediately" is now fixed and the images are showing up in both methods for sending.
Thanks for your help with this. James |
