    Hi,

We have created two registration forms in our website. In First form when user submits it User automatically assigned as registered user. In the second form , when user fills it uses should get assigned as Other role (ex. Premium Role which we created in DNN). So we have created event using Dotnetnuke Role Type. We do not want Role to assign depending on the user response so we created hidden fields (in dynamic filed we selected hidden field) and trying to assign the user as Premium role when the second forms gets filled. But it is not working.

Please let me know how do i assign role without using User Response option.

Please do reply me as soon as possible Very Urgent.

    Thanks

    Ashok,

Hi. Well it should work as you describe as long as you are populating the hidden field with a response (probably with the pass to querystring/pull from querystring). To test I would make the field a textbox instead of hidden field for testing purposes only and after testing you can change it back to a hidden field.

So... What is the value of the hidden field and is it pre-filled, how does it get populated etc... It does have to be based on the 'users response' but if its a hidden field they will not know what they responded to so that should be a solution.

    Thanks Chad,

This time i created a textbox with default value and then converted it into hidden field. Then i filled the form and user is now becoming premium users role.

We also want to give the validation period for these premium user role i.e for 6 months user should have this premium role after that it should automatically get expire. Is this requirement is possible using dynamic registration form , if yes then what setting should be set for that OR We should manually delete the users role after 6 months.

    Please let me know,

    Thanks

    Ashok,

Hi. Currently with the Role Event you can't specify an expiration date but that is a great enhancement idea/request and I see a value in adding that.

For now, what you could do is create a Dynamic SQL Event. Just make sure the SQL Event is setup after the role event so that it will execute after the user has the role. The SQL Event would be something like this.

    Update UserRoles
    Set ExpiryDate = (Select GetDate() + 180)
    Where RoleID =3 AND UserID = $(UserID)

This would set the expiry date to be 180 days where the RoleID is 3 (You would want to find your roleID and replace it with this query.). The $(UserID) is a parameter that is valid with any SQL Event for Dynamic Registration.

    That should do the trick.

    -Chad
