    Hmm...

I thought this was based on localization and the date calendar pop up. Can you tell me.

Does it appear correctly when initially selecting it, or does it not even appear correctly then?

We will likely have a patch that lets you choose the date format you would like it to be in (probably under module configuration, something like 'Preferred Date Format') but I just need to know if this is when initially selecting the data, or only when viewing the date in emails/view results etc...

    Hi,

I am using Dynamic Forms 2.7.4 and it works well. Open up the form site, select a date ... the field displays the right date format. Tested with german, english and french - each time the right date format according to the language.

But I have the localization modules from www.apollo-software.nl installed. Perhaps that's the reason why it works - I don't know.
    The only issue is:
The link behind the date field is always "Select date" ... no matter which language is selected.

The problem that I have, is that the dates that I insert with the datepicker in DF are presented like long date dd/mm/yyy hh:mm:ss in DV . How can I format the date to dd/mm/yyyy and loose the time part?

    greetings,

    Hello Anthony,

You will need to add a custom SQL query in order to receive the date format you're seeking. You need to create a flat table. What's a flat table? Please reference Demo 14, Demo 21 , and Demo 31 to see how flat tables are used. This can be auto generated for you, in Demo 31 part 1 there is a section on how to create a flat table. Once you have your flat table, you can query it directly. You will use a query along the sorts to get the date format you'd like to have with out the time attached:

SELECT FirstName, LastName, CONVERT(VarChar(50), yourDateColumn, 103) FROM tableName

You will only select the columns in which you wish to display, so using firstName and LastName is only my example. With the CONVERT you are declaring the data type and size (VarChar(50). Then use the name of your date column that way this function knows which column to reformat. 103 is the format in which the data will be returned(this is the format you want dd/mm/yyyy).

When your in your Dynamic Views be sure to reference this flat table by using the SQL driven option (radio button). Then select the columns you wish to have using the query I gave you. This will generate the columns you want in your Dynamic Views.

Lets go over the steps again.

1.) Create a flat table with the columns you want.
2.) Go to your Dynamic Views module and use SQL driven  option.
3.) Place the query in there to retrieve the columns from your newly created flat table from Dynamic Forms.
4.) Now you will have your formatted date column value.

Please let me know how this helps you.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,

Thanks for your extensive and thorough information. I have adjusted my query to this:

    SELECT uniquecompletionid, CONVERT(nvarchar(50),[datum-begin],103),CONVERT(nvarchar(50),[datum-eind],103),[wedstrijd-naam],[wedstrijd-niveau],[cat-floret],[cat-degen],[cat-sabel],loc,info,resultaten from DynamicForms_CustomTable_Wedstrijdkalender

I tested the query in host/sql and there it ran succesfully, but when I try to generate my column names from this query in Dynamic Views, nothing happens, my colum names aren't generated. Is this something specific to Dynamic Views?

    Hello Anthony,

In your Dynamic Views Instance are you doing these steps:

    1.) Go to Module Configuration

2.) Select the radio button "Table/View" and insert the name of the table in this case "DynamicForms_CustomTable_Wedstrijdkalender"

    3.) Now click generate columns

    Are you following these steps?

If you are and can't get it to work would you be able to email me the URL to the page in which this isn't working for you? Email me at rbakerink at datasprings dot com

    Thanks,

    Ryan
