SQL Event - Single Quotes in entry fields

    Hi Folks,

     

    I have added custom fields on my registration form and am inserting those entries into a table in the Sql database using a Sql event.

     

    However whenever someone enters a single quote into the form the 'Insert' fails. (ie Name = O'Hara)

     

    I need to change the single quote to 2 single quotes for the insert to work.

     

    Anyone have any ideas.

    Tony,

    Hi. Another user reported this issue too. We first looked into the issue as maybe something you could do on the SQL side, maybe do the replacement at the SQL end but it doesn't sound like this is an option. We have already implemented the enhancement within Dynamnic Forms and will also implement it within the next release of Dynamic Registration (either major or minor).

    If you purchased the source and made the change yourself, you would add this:
    strMySQL = strMySQL.Replace("'", "''")

    Again, this will be fixed in the next release though.

    Hi. We have tentatively scheduled the release of 2.4 to be the second week of January, we might be able to get a pre-release out sooner but no promises yet.

    Besides some general smaller enhancements such as this one we are also planning on V2.4 to fully support content localization (meaning you can change the field label/help text/example text/question header and footer/ submit link button or image button etc...) based on the specific language the user has selected. This will allow you to setup one registration form for all the languages on your site.

    Additionally, new features will be implemented to integrate with some of our other modules more included Tailored Text/HTML and so forth.
