Now, the Image field has a shortname of Image, $(Image). This field was filled with the Dynamic Forms generated name of the uploaded image. This field is now empty. I post to a table we use to retrieve the photographs for display and, in checking the table, the Image field is blank.

The Dynamic Email which is also sent at form submission completion also shows the field blank.

This has become critical for me and I need some response, please!

UPDATE: Problem of losing image name from Image field seems to be when configuring field for Auto Preview. If Preview is optional data is present but, if you choose not to preview a png or bmp file, upload will not occur. You will get the message telling you to check the format of the file.

PLEASE! This is the second full day this problem has been posted and, as of yet, there has been no reply!

    Hi Jim,

Couple of quick questions:  What version of Dyn. Forms are you using?  What DNN version do you have?

Now, can you set up your form on betasprings.com so we can review it?  (use host/dnnhost to log in.)  Once it's set up, let us know the name of the form, ok?

    Thanks,
    Candace

    Sure.

DNN: 4.8.3 and 4.8.4 (2 servers same problem)
Dyn Form: 2.06.70 (on both sites)

I will set up the form on betasprings.com

I suggest trying to upload a .png image without Preview and then do it after selecting Preview.

Another problem: After omitting a Required field and being notified of the fact by the form, the Preview link disappears.

On betasprings.com, in your v 20.60.71, the file is uploaded twice with each submission, per the FileManager.  But, you must still click Preview to eliminate the Error message and allow the upload.

    Candee,

The upload is working properly now.

    Thanks for the fix.

I would like to make an RFE for your next release version:

After uploading the file and before copying to the uploads dir., check the dimensions of the file to determine if the orientation is Portrait or Landscape. Allow the thumbnail to be sized based on the orientation of the image.

The field settings would require two thumbnail settings controls, one for Portrait orientation and one for Landscape orientation. I am doing this now but I have to use an aspx file displayed in an IFrame rather than a Gallery type of module due to the fact that I need thumbnail sizing to occur based on the original orientation of the image. If you want to see what I mean, go to My Photo Site and select Gallery then Landscape or Still Life from the menu.

Glad to hear it worked for you, JIm.  And thanks  for the great suggestion.  We will consider this for future releases.

    Jim,

I actually think it should be doing this if you choose 'Relative' in the thumbnail type instead of Fixed.

    Chad,

If you select Relative, you must set either the max width or max height. In doing this, all Thumbs will be xx wide or xx high, regardless of the original orientation (portrait or landscape).
