Hi everyone

I am a newbie to DNN and considering purchasing Dynamic Forms.

I received the following response from Chad

"Dan hi. It sounds like a combination of our Dynamic Forms and Tailored Text/Html module would do the teick. You might post something to our product forums for a more detailed explanation of how to set it up.

    Chad"

...so I am posting my question here.

    Hope you can help.

    Thanks

    Dan

    Here's what I'm asking for:

    • A module that will integrate with Pay Pal and a merchant account credit card system and most allow me to charge AUSD (Australian Dollars).

I don't have any programming knowledge, so I am really after a 1-2-3 'click and install' package that will guide me through the Pay Pal and merchant account integration.

For example, I have absolutely no idea where to paste the code from Pay Pal.

    • A module that can be used as a shopping cart, as well as a registration form generator and 'other' form generator. I like the 'shopping cart' being used on this site: http://www.doubleyourdating.com/0/e...bsp;(click on 'Order with Debit Card or Credit Card)
    • In addition to products, I also sell courses. For a course that I sell, I want registered or non-registered users to be able to fill out a multiple choice question form, with checkboxes/radiobuttons and some text box fields, which will then be sent to me via e-mail. Example: http://joe-vitale-executive-mentori...html
    • Which of the Data Springs products can achieve all that for me?

    Cheers

    Dan

    Dan,

We plan to add many new enhancements to the forms and registration modules for paypal and merchant services but for now keep in mind that you can always pass any variables to a shopping cart or other module by using the 'Pass question to querystring variable'.

I have created a quick guide/example of how you can use Dynamic Forms or Dynamic Registration with the Tailored Text/HTML module though as a solution for integration with paypal. The tailored Text/HTML module does the necessary calculations and creates a checkout summary, as well as generating the payment link for paypal. These steps will be simplified in future releases but for now this is a good start with how you can integrate the modules to work with DotNetNuke.

Thanks Chad - appreciate your assistance :)

That's a great guide there, but I'm still very confused. I'm a newbie to DNN...

A few questions if I may:
Under General Settings
in DNN, or Dynamic forms?
create a querystring token
What does that mean? ...and where are querysting tokens created?
Use SQL Tokens to compute a total
how and where? :)
An example might be Select $(Quantity) * 80.00,
...where? :)
Wherever there is a value passed, such as the total or product name, you can use the Tailored Text/HTML Tokens
Confused as to what that means and where you're suggesting to get it done.

Also, can you please my other questions in the original post.

    Cheers

    Dan,

Hi. Let me see if I can clear that up.

    1. General Settings in Dynamic Forms

    2. Within Dynamic Forms one of the options available under the advanced field options is the ability to 'Pass the value via a querystring variable'. I realize this might sound a bit advanced but this is one way how you can integrate with other modules. The querystring is the URL in the browser (i.e. http://www.datasprings.com) The value would be passed such as FirstName from the form (i.e. http://www.datasprings.com/default....Name=Dan). This passes form field values from the querystring and some other modules can this pick this value up. In the example I gave we used our Tailored Text/HTML Module. So to answer your question, querystring tokens are created when the user submits the dynamic form and they are setup in the advanced field options of dynamic forms.

You might check out the Tailored Text/HTML user guide too as it explains the user of tokens and so forth.

For your original post I am assuming you are suggesting the post related to selling courses and so forth. My suggestions for our modules would probably by Dynamic Registration, Dynamic Forms, and Tailored Text/HTML. Its possible you need a much more advanced shopping cart then the small integration I suggested above so that would depend on if you were also wanting to accept credit cards and not just paypal etc... There are some much more advanced store modules out there and although we plan to integrate more merchant features with Dynamic Forms and Dynamic Registration in the future that example was just something that could be integrated and not necessarily the best approach for all solutions.

    Hope this helps!

    -Chad
