I need an extremely quick contact manager with the ability to add custom fields to it, so that each registered subscriber can manage their own contacts database. A "Prospect Manager," if you will, with the ability to check boxes on a prospect/contact with cool, warm, or hot leads.

Is Dynamic forms the best way to go with this? I need the ability for each user to be able to add/manage their own custom fields, and I am stumped with the existing modules out there for DNN. Not many great sales force tools exist.

    Hi Doug,

At first glance, it looks like our Dynamic Registration module may work for your requirements.  This module, unlike Dynamic Forms, gives you the ability to set what role may manage users or manage questions/settings under Module Security.

After the initial 'registration,' of your contacts, you can have as many instances of Dynamic Registration on your site as you need.  That means Prospect Manager John might have 10 fields and Prospect Manager Mike might have more.  You'll have to play with role assignments and set reporting requirements to make the process work.

Will the prospects ever access this to sign up on their own?  Or will the prospect manager enter the contact info and basically 'register' the contacts?

Please visit our test site at www.betasprings.com (use host / dnnhost to log in).  You can add your own page under Dynamic Registration to get a better feel for whether this will satisfy your requirement.

Let us know if you have additional questions.  Thanks.

    Candace

I am looking for something along the same line.  Reps who are registered and login to manage their subscriber list for newsletters.  The subscribers would not be registered and need to login.  The newsletter is public.  Would the Dynamic Registration accomplished this?

    Dave,

Hi. This could technically be done a few ways I think, the best way would be using Dynamic Forms along with a 3rd party reporting module such as IndooGrid or ListX etc... Check out this demonstration, you could have the reporting module handle pulling in what emails were tied to that specific user etc... These could be in a seperate table or an application such as Opt In Email 4.0 etc...

Basically you can create some reports specific to that user, and then store subscribers specific for that user etc... This will cover all of the implementation for a users specific subscribers etc... Then you can either use the Opt In Email system and allow users to distribute messages from that, or you could actually even build a small email application with Dynamic Forms. You could do this by setting up a form with a subjet, email body, and so forth and for the 'Email To' you could technically use a hidden field that would pull in all of the subscribers from a SQL default value (which would pull in all subscribers and seperate them by a ; etc...).

This would basically be creating a nice work flow solution for users to have their own emails that they could distribute a message to etc... Does this sound like what you need?

    -Chad
