    Greetings,

I am creating a Dynamic Forms based questionaire which, at the top asks for name, email & phone. Further down it goes on to ask questions which have long questions with long Checkbox Group list answers.

I am specifying that the "Display label and field in same column" is ticked and I can accommodate the long answers by setting the Column Span to 2 BUT the question/label is still being limited in width to the same as the shorter 2 column questions at the top of the page.

Is there a way to make the question/label wider (ie. span the 2 columns like the field does)?

I noticed a question earlier in the year in which you thought having a separate Column Span for the label and field would solve the problem. Is this likely to be implemented and if so, how soon as this is impeding an otherwise nicely laid out form.

    Thanks,

    Justin.

Just a further note, I have noticed that in Firefox 3, the question label spans right across but it is squashed to the width of the Label Width setting in IE 7.

I should also mention that anything entered as a question header gets squashed to the same width as the question label.

    Regards,

    Justin.

    Justin,

Please review your test page again and see how you like the settings (considering some of the limitations).  I changed the label field length to 250 in Module Configuration, General Settings.  The long question was set to a colspan of 3 and the header was placed in a table with a width of 400.  It looked decent enough in both Firefox and IE7.

    Will this work for you?

    Hi Candace,

Your table idea and the ability to hide the actual question label (so I can just use the table) has got me almost to the solution I need.

The only thing, and it is a minor one, is that there is a line break (ie BR) put in just after the table in the header which I haven't put in.

It means that I can't have the question right above the answers like the built in functionality has. These customised questions have extra spacing. I hope I am making sense.

Do you have any workarounds that might help with this one?

    Regards,

    Justin.

    Hi Candace,

I've got it sorted now. I gave the table (which was added in the question header) a style of "display:inline;". That gets rid of the blank line between the question and the answers, so it now looks like the built in questions.

Thanks very much for your help.

    Regards,

    Justin.
