    Is it possible to capture the Paypal Transaction ID?  If so, how? -- I'd like to include this in the confirmation email that gets sent out by the website (as opposed to the confirmation email that Paypal sends out).

    Hi. It looks like this is not an area that is very well documented but the following tokens should be available from PayPal IPN responses. These should be available for Email Events, SQL Events, HTTP Post events, and also the 'Display After Message'. I am not sure yet why these were not documented (its possible there are some issues or they are not always available).

    I don't know what $(PayPal:txn_id) is, but it's not the Paypal transaction ID that a user gets when they complete the purchase on the Payal website. I have two completion events setup for a form -- one for the customer and one for the site admin; for the same transaction each one is receiving a different transaction ID.

    Any other ideas?

    I think that the transaction ID is unique for each PayPal IPN response that comes in so that doesn't surprise me. That send a unique value because the system needs to check if its already received that one (security risk).

    What about: $(PayPal:invoice)?

     

    You might have to pass in the Invoice ID there though. Check this list that explains what some of those variables mean:

     Are these available for PayFlow Pro transactions as well??  I also need to send an email with the transaction ID generated by PayPal.  In the previous pure ASP solution I could pull 'PNREF' from the response.  I see in debug mode this is coming back from PayFlow but how can i get it out of the module?

    Hi. Unfortunately these variables are not currently available within the Pay Flow Pro Integration. We will review adding these for future releases. If you needed something sooner or outside of our release scheduler you could purchase the module w/ source or we can handle this with Premium Support hours (http://www.datasprings.com/Premium-Support). An enhancement like this would fit into our minimum of 6 hours and take 2-3 business days. If not, we will review this for future updates for sure!
