I have a form that should utilize three client-side events.

I added the Javascript to the "Initial Javascript" custom javascript file. Then, I added the javascript to one of the questions and updated the form.  It saved and everything was fine--the form output correctly.

However, I went to a different question to add a client side event, and the info wouldn't save.  I clicked update, and the field shows the javascript; however it removes the question title. If I click update and exit, it doesn't save anything at all.

Then, I went back into the first client side event to make a minor edit, and now it won't save either.

    Please help...

Hi. What version of the module you are using? I have seen this on limited occasions, I think between switching from hidden field to textbox and maybe you need to choose the textbox type (such as single line, long, or multi line). The issue is probably more to do with a setting like this that is causing the field not to save, and less about the client side event code specifically.

I'm using version 2.7.  I just created a brand new form and its still doing the same thing.  If I type in something like $(x) = $(x), that will save; but no javascript

So.... Does the JavaScript get saved when you go back in? What if you update the field label and leave the client side event feature alone? Hmmm... How long is the JavaScript? If its really long maybe its causing a problem? Also, you might try and save on www.betasprings.com (login as username host with a pw of dnnhost) and see if you can duplicate it there.

The Javascript doesn't save when I go back in.

I have posted the file to betasprings...The javascript code is in the custom JS box...It IS long, like you guessed. However, the results of my form need to display both the values and text values for (so option A equals 10...but it also has to show somewhere they picked A.  Right now, it just says 10 in the results. But that script, when it was working, was the only way that I could figure out).

It still won't let me save the client-side event.  (However, no matter how long or short I make it, if its JS, it won't save it...Tokens seem to save...)

Hi. What field you are trying to save the client side event in? The 'limitation' as far as size should only be in the client side event area and not the actual custom JavaScript file (which should have no limit). Ill have to check which field is not saving, is it a textbox field?

If there is a size limitation we ran into this recently with another client and we had to go the route of moving a portion of the client side event to a JavaScript Function that went into the custom JavaScript file, and then from there just calling it from the client side event and passing fields/tokens to the function which then returned a value. For now though, just let me know which field isn't saving the client side event so I can duplicate it.

    Laura,

Hi. I just went to this page and tried a few things that worked, so maybe I am not understanding exactly what is happening.

    1. I went into the client side event for the field 'Select Capability' and just entered 'test' within the event, this appears to save properly when I come back in.

    2. I went into the client side event for the field 'Customer Care CSC' to pop up an alert JavaScript message. This also appeared to save and when I chose an option it alerted me?

Maybe its a specific browser issue? Are you running IE/FireFox and PC or MAC?
